Block Center
Block play, like other play centers, is a social phenomenon in which students can improve their language skills and vocabulary. Students' early math skills are strengthened as they count, sort, classify, and identify blocks. To place blocks, students must also use spatial awareness and language. Preschoolers must also problem-solve and think logically and creatively in order to strengthen block structures. Finally, blocks are symbolic in the sense that they serve as symbols. Students learn that an object or idea, like written words, can stand for something else by understanding symbolic representation. To foster reading literacy and mathematics skills, preschool teachers must create a strong block play center where students can engage in sustained block play.

1. Block Maze
It is a fun block activity that your child can participate in. The Block Maze is an excellent skill-building activity that addresses many aspects of fine motor development. To begin, you may require building blocks, preferably wooden blocks because they are sturdy and heavy, pompoms, ping pong balls, light plastic hollow core balls, and wide short straws. Next, make a maze/racetrack shape; then, let your child play, taking turns blowing his pompom around the maze with the straw.
2. Puzzle with Blocks
Puzzle with Blocks is a great activity for teaching your child about the area and spatial concepts. It is a quick break activity that keeps your child occupied and stimulates their thinking. Make a square or rectangle shape figure out of painter's tape on the floor, then have your child fill it in with wooden blocks.
